Photocopying
University of Alberta Press has licensed the granting of permission for most of its photocopying requests to Access Copyright (the Canadian Copyright Licensing Agency), and through it, the Copyright Clearance Center in the USA.
If you wish to copy material comprising less than 20 percent of a book published by University of Alberta Press, you may send your request directly to Access Copyright or the Copyright Clearance Center.

Course Packs
To request to reprint material published by University of Alberta Press in a course pack, please first contact Access Copyright. Our materials also reside in various academic and course pack databases.
When contacting University of Alberta Press for permission to reproduce material in a course pack, we will need to know:
- Name of course
- Name of instructor
- Name of institution where course is to be offered
- Semester for which the request is being made
- Number of students expected to enroll
- If it is to be posted online, access restrictions (password-protected, etc.)
- A physical mailing address for yourself
Alternate Format Requests
University of Alberta Press provides PDF or accessible epub files of our books for students or other readers with print disabilities. Such requests must be made by an appropriate institution, who confirm that the student or user has provided proof of purchase. Please contact:

- If requesting electronic rights, indicate either eBook, online
- A physical mailing address for yourself
Image or Figure Permissions
Check the book to make sure the image or figure you wish to reproduce has not been credited to another source, either on the page, on the copyright page, or in a credit section of the publication. University of Alberta Press can only authorize material for which it holds the copyright.
Covers and Book Data
Retailers, wholesalers, media, event promoters, and authors may download and reproduce covers without requesting permission as long as the covers are not changed in any way.
